GK History
Gurukitty was established in Feb 1997 as a comic book artist Duo looking to publish and create independent comics and Manga.
Since 1997 there have been several titles under Gurukitty such as Ido and Fish Socks, but none of them really grew into anything that we felt we could do on a professional independent comic level. So after a time, the comics died down while a better story and better art could be developed.
Eventually, animation came into the mix when in 2004 Guruu went to Vancouver Film School (VFS) to take the Classical Animation course. Because of this, an old comic originally called Ido, was reborn, reworked and now being turned into a classically animated feature called Conflagration.
In 2006 comics was reborn with a Phantom of the Opera horror comic adaption called The Phantom, which was intended to be a print and release with no online aspects. This is a slow and tedious job and we were in need of something to liven up the place a bit. So in 2007, Daqueran was born, and The Phantom was backburnered (temporarily). Because of the long hiatus of comic work it would be necessary to re-establish ourselves with the comic community on the Internet so Daqueran was made into an Online Fantasy comic with the intention to get printed.
Team GK
Occasionally, it's been necessary to seek other artist for help to get a project done. People who work on larger projects with us, or who have worked with us on more than one project become Team GK. Once Conflagration is going this team will fill us to a larger volume of people.
Team GK can consist of script writers, editors, Colourists, proof readers, animation assistants, art assistants, concept artists and just about any other job (paid or volunteer) you cna think of.
