Daqueran is a Fantasy Adventure comic series. Inked traditionally and coloured digitally for chapter 1, and watercoloured traditionally for future chapters. The story is about a slave hero forced to complete a mission to stop a war between dragons and the known world. Daquerans origin and life are a mystery to everyone, and what Daqueran knows he's reluctant to tell.
Daqueran's only goal is to get the mission done to get back where "he belongs". Iada is determined to come with him as she has her own reasons for wanting to get to Shalynd, but can’t go it alone. Tik is a tiny little octopus that Daqueran found just before Tik was about to get eaten by a fish, they have been friends ever since.
About the comic
There are 2 versions of Daqueran, the web version and the print version.
The web version is kind of like, a rough cut, while the print version is the refined clean and polished version. The web version is also in some cases a bit toned down in gore and language to conform to posting regularions on sites, as well as to protect younger readers. The Printed version will have no such concerns as so will be adjusted to be trer to the original script.
Chapter 1 was coloured digitally by Aun-juli, but starting with chapter 2, Daqueran is going to become a traditionally painted (watercolours) comic.
The chapters of the online version work like issues for the printed version, so chapter 1 web version will become issue 1 in the printed version. The story is divided to make the most of those seperations.
Why buy the printed version of a web comic?
As stated above, there are the changes that occure between each, but more importantly than that, it has to do with supporting the artist and the work put into creating this entertainment.
I have always been a strong supporter of independent comic artists and their work, and I always try and purchase printed copies of the online comics I read when they are avaliable. Some I regualrily purchase are "Wyliman", "Snowball in Hell", "Wayfarer's Moon", "Let's Go to Utah", and many others (all avaliable on indyplanet). They are often for sale at extreamly reasonable prices so it wouldn't kill anyones budget to grab an issue here or there.
The next reason is that there is something just a bit more special about holding a comic in your hands, that someone poured their heart, soul and energy into creating. Comic artists create comics from passion, not to get rich or famous (and if they are, HA, good luck).
I would encourage you to try and support your favorite online comics buy either purchasing printed versions, or if you are not able to purchase online donating what you can to help them, or checking if their have a distributor that will get comics to your local comic shop.
We all understand that some people just aren't able to buy, so in those cases, just let your favorite comic artist know you are a fan, and vote them up in Buzz and top lists and review them on other sites. It's amazing how those little things can help get a comic more readers and help them succeed in their goals.
Thank you everyone for your support!
