Education And Career
My name is Jayleen "Guruubii" Weaver, I am an animator and film maker from Vancouver BC Canada. Following through with my passion for story telling by attending a Comic Book production course at Vancouver Film School where I learned all about the production and creation of Comic books for publication. It was through this that I learned of the classical animation course at the same school and decided to follow my dreams of becoming an animator. In 2004 I enrolled in the Classical (2d) Animation course. I completed it in 2005, where I completed 2 Films. Most notably my classical animation film called Not a Peep.
I worked Freelance for about a year, when I decided to expand myself and take a part time Introductory course in Maya at Vanarts. After that I was offered a job at Mercury FilmWorks Studio here in Vancouver, where I did Digital Ink and Paint on the TV series, Class Of The Titans and did other freelance work on Kids Music Videos for the extremely talented Duo Bobs and Lolo. Other notable companies I have done work for are ArcherLex, Coca Cola, & deviantART. I continue to work Freelance for various companies doing animation and Graphic design.
Role on Gurukitty
My role on Gurukitty.com is that of the head of Animation. I supervise the production of the animated shorts that appear on this site, as well as being hands on in all aspects of production for the films. The largest project right now is that of Conflagration Which has been in re-writes jumping from being a comic series in 3 versions, a TV series, web episodes, to now its final form, as a fantasy,medieval feature length film, since February 1997. I am constantly seeking new ideas for animated shorts to fill out the site, while working on this production.
